Our Investment in Baltimore City #WeAreBaltimore
Thanks to recent press coverage (including Fox45 News and The Washington Post) and the popularity of original designs, we were able to make a significant donation to Mentoring Mentors based on our August sales! We really appreciate everyone who ordered online or visited our store to support the effort.
Here's a little background. As noted in the blog post we wrote on August 10th: On July 27, 2019, President Trump publicly tweeted that Baltimore City was a "disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess." Chase Street A&E created an original design in response that experienced significant media coverage and popularity.
Since then, we've worked on diversifying the products and designs available to emphasize the positive message we want to encourage in Baltimore City. Our Flower Rat was designed to be featured during Flower Mart, but we sell it year-round! 10% of the sales from these designs will be donated to the Mount Vernon Place Conservancy. In the spring of 2019, an enterprising artist painted "Good Morning Baltimore" over an uglier tag in the neighborhood of Mount Vernon, Baltimore and thought it'd make a great motivational gift for any Baltimorean or Hairspray fan. We also like to poke fun at some of the more "adventurous" aspects of living in the city, such as our Whisky Tango (Foxtrot) Baltimore series.
Even if you're not in the market for one of our original designs or looking for custom work, stop by and say hello anyway. We love to meet our neighbors!
